For the second consecutive year, MAPFRE, the largest Spanish insurance group and founding member of Madrid Centro Financiero, ranked first with regards to solvency among the largest non-life insurance groups in Europe. The ranking, produced by the Mapfre Foundation, ranked the Spanish insurance group 6th in Europe in terms of volume of premiums paid in 2009 and 2nd in terms of combined ratio.
