DIFC discusses initiatives to strengthen Economic and Financial Cooperation between the UAE and Spain » 37.3 KiB
Dubai – 15 December 2011: The Dubai International Financial Centre ("DIFC”), the financial and business hub connecting the region’s emerging markets with the developed markets of Europe, Asia and the Americas, today hosted “UAE and Spain: Economic and Financial Cooperation”, an investment conference held in association with the Madrid Centro Financiero (“MCF”). The event comes in line with DIFC’s commitment to develop strong partnerships with other financial centres around the globe.

The student body of IE's Master in Finance program comprises 95% international students from 23 countries, and takes place in Madrid and New York. High level representatives from major european financial centres gathered in Madrid within the framework of the conversations held towards building a collaboration agreement among the aforementioned "centres" to face the ever increasing competition from the Asian and the American continents. In this respect, the European Financial Centres Roundtable, reviewed different cooperation initiatives, such as the reinforcement of internal coordination, promotional projects and the contribution towards building consensus on the main financial issues at the european level. Previously, representatives from financial centres in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Luxembourg and Edinbourg, held a meeting with the Spanish Treasury Director General, Mrs. Soledad Núñez, as well as with representatives from Madrid Centro Financiero, in order to exchange their views about the forthcoming EU regulatory reform and to learn about the EU Spanish presidency calendar and priorities.
