Madrid Centro Financiero Moderates the 6th Session in the 9th National Highway Meet, “The Spanish model for development in the highway system in context with the EU”, Santiago de Compostela, from June 22nd to the 25th, 2010

In the last twenty years Spain has experienced a real revolution on road infrastructures. The main factors enabling this important evolution are:

• Propitious economic juncture.
• Skills and experience of technical and financial managers.
• Remarkable support of institutions.

Currently Spain holds the Presidency of the European Union. At the same time this year is the XACOBEUS SAINT YEAR. Therefore, it takes place the perfect scenery to promote from inside to outside the savoir faire of Spanish road sector.

The directing manager of Madrid Centro Financiero, Isabel Martin Castellá, participated in the conference as a moderator of the plenary VI session, which discussed the topic of the funding fo highways with European funds. The discussion evolved around the topic of the impact of the development of highways in the regional spehere, using the model created by the Spanish Highway Association to transfer the Spanish experience to the European Front.
